All rules will be in accordance with NCAA standards unless noted below.
Playing time will consist of two 20 minute running time halves with a four minute halftime. Games will begin promptly. There will be no stop/start in the last two minutes except for timeouts and injuries.
There will be no stick checks unless requested by the opposing coach. If the stick is found to be illegal, the challenging team will be charged a timeout. I f no timeout remains, a delay of game technincal foul will be assessed.
All sticks must meet either NCAA or NFHS standards.
There will be no horns. All substitution is on the fly with the exception of a dropped flags. On dropped flags teams will be given a horn to substitute.
Each team will receive one 30 second timeout each half. Timeouts will not carry over to the next half. The game clock will stop for timeouts. Players will be whistled onto the field after 30 seconds - at which time the clock will restart. If a team is slow to return to the field, possession will be awarded to the team ready to play. If the defensive team is slow to return a 30 second delay of game penalty will be assessed.
Penalties will be running time. The penalty time will begin when the official blows the whistle to restart play.
No Overtime in regulation play.
All ties in playoff games will be decided by an unlimited sudden victory period.
When a faceoff violation occurs before the whistle, the offending team's faceoff player must leave the field and be substituted for through the substitution area.
No player may be rostered on more than one team or compete for more than one team during the tournament. Teams in violation of this rule will forfeit the games in which the player is known to have played and the team will forfeit the opportunity to advance to the playoffs.
No High School Graduates are eligible.
All playoff games will be 30 minute running time. Each team will have one 30 second timeout during which the clock will stop.
No noise makers will be allowed at any field (horns, whistles, sirens, cowbells, etc.). Offenders will be asked to leave the field.
Any player, coach or fan ejected from a game will be prohibited from competing in/coaching/watching his/her team's next game.
DECISION ON THE FIELD WILL BE THE FINAL RULING.
SCORING
Points will be awarded after each game as follows:
5 points for a win
2 points for a tie
0 points for a loss
Ties will be broken in the following manner and sequence:
Head to head play
Most wins
Fewest goals allowed
Total point differential (not to exceed +3 or -3 in any game)
Coin toss (team coming second in alphabet will call the toss)
Any playoff games that end in a tie will be resolved by an unlimited sudden victory overtime period.
One referee at each game will hold the scorecard for that game. At the end of each game the referee will record the official socre and sign the scorecard. A Northern Getaway representative will then pick up the scorecard and return it to the registration tent. All scores and point totals will be posted on the main scoreboard located in front of the registration tent.
