Rules will be as established by the Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (http://mylalax.com) unless otherwise noted. Playing time will consist of 2 twenty minute running halves with a 5 minute halftime. Games will begin promptly.
Timeouts will consist of one 45 second timeout per team per half. Playing time stops with each timeout.
The four goal rule will be in effect at all times – if a team is leading by 4 or more goals, the faceoff will be eliminated and the ball awarded to the trailing team at midfield. The only exception to this rule will be to begin the second half.
No more than four long sticks per team allowed on the field at any time.
Players in the 7/8 division will not have time serving fouls. The fouling player will be removed from the field of play for the duration of his foul but will be allowed to be replaced by another player during his foul.
There will be no stick checks unless requested by the opposing coach, and if the stick is found not to be illegal, the challenging team will be charged a timeout. If no timeouts remain, a delay of game technical foul will be assessed.
No Overtime in regular play. Sudden victory overtime will be used to decide all ties in playoff games.
Players may compete for only one team during the tournament.
No player may be rostered on more than one team.
No player that has competed at the High School level (Fresh/Soph, JV, Varsity or a High School affiliated club team) may compete in the tournament at any level in the tournament.
Any team that violates rules #8-10 will forfeit all games in which it is known that the ineligible player competed and will forfeit any opportunity to advance to the playoffs.
Any team that forfeits a game during the tournament will be ineligible to compete in any playoff games.
All forfeits will be considered a 4-2 victory for the team that is prepared to play.
All 7/8 B games will be 7 vs. 7.
All other games will be 10 vs. 10 (including 7/8 A division).
IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING RULES, THE REFEREE’S DECISION ON THE FIELD WILL BE THE FINAL RULING.
